I was born in Bedford, Texas and was raised by my mom in the small city of Richland Hills. I have always had a passion for kids and teaching and couldn't have asked for a better job.
I started working at Fortress in January 2011 with the 3rd-5th graders, and transferred to Preschool and Kindergarten for the summer. And now for this school year, I'm working with the 1st and 2nd graders. Needless to say, I've been all over the building, getting the best experience anyone could ask for.
I'm currently enrolled as a sophomore at Tarrant County College, and hope to continue my education at TCU after the year is over. I want to obtain a degree in Elementary Education, preferably working with fourth through sixth grade.
I have had jobs prior to working at Fortress, but nothing can compare to the love I have for Fortress and the wonderful children that come every day. It is an amazing thing to see what Fortress does for these kids, and how they are so willing to open their lives to God. I feel like I myself have become a better person from working here, and count my blessings every time I leave work. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for Fortress, the kids, and myself!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11 |
