My family first visited Fortress Church on a whim in 2004 and immediately knew that God had led us there with purpose. We full-heartedly dove into various ministries as church members and volunteers and have never looked back.
As a volunteer, I often worked on special events and creative projects for Fortress, and was offered a staff position doing those very things in the fall of 2008. I love my job! I truly feel passionate about the work and I do and the ministries I support, and I thank God faithfully for the opportunities He has laid in my path.
As Director of Communications, I get to use my gifts and hobbies to their fullest , writing and editing brochures, newsletters, manuals, grants, etc, and creating marketing campaigns and materials. As Volunteer Coordinator, I get to meet and work with people from all walks of life and help place them in positions that will benefit not only Fortress, but themselves as well.
I’ve been married to Darren – my best friend from college - since 1991. We have a daughter, Dani (who is a freshman at Texas A&M – whoop!), two sons, Aidan (8) and Ian (7), and one obnoxious guard cat, Ashlie (5). I enjoy traveling with my family, the mountains, game nights with friends, sno cones, fresh flowers, crossword puzzles, happy hour Diet Vanilla Coke at Sonic, playing with glue and paint, and live music.
